It is important to me to make note of a sad passing on Friday. Marie and Will, two wonderful friends of mine and, increasingly, dear friends of Mom's, lost Will's Dad to cancer on Friday afternoon after a valiant battle.
I had the chance to meet Frits many times thru the years and have memories that still make me smile. The most recent that I remember was one day about a year ago, when Brooke and I went up to Richmond to visit. Frits and Will were working on a gorgeous stone bbq/fireplace outside. I remember how happy Frits was to be working with Will and with his hands. He had a talent that I got to witness that day. But it was obvious that the most important part to him, was working with his son.
He always had a smile for me and for the girls. I know that his wife, sons and daughter-in-laws as well as his grandchildren will miss him sorely.
