9 days and counting....

Alrighty...let's see. Mom is doing okay. She has an infection along her incision line and a nasty bed sore and her coumadin is out of whack BUT....she is up, walking on her own, got rid of '5 wheel Betty' (her iv's and pole) today and has even showered on her own (hey...try being bedridden for three weeks and you'll know what an accomplishment that is LOL!). Her 'release date' has been pushed back a bit - they had hoped for this weekened but she just started taking solid foods (about a week later than first anticipated) and they want to keep an eye on her for another day or two. Hopefully, she will be home by Tuesday.

Her next chemo is scheduled for January 13 (or 15th, depending on who you are talking to)...she isn't looking forward to it. For the obvious reasons. We are hoping it will not be as bad this time around, considering what has been taken out of the equation (no pun intended).

I have not been able to get up to see her the last few days as Morgan so graciously passed on her head cold to me. Bet she didn't get me a Christmas gift, though (or perhaps this is it!). Eric and Jake went yesterday. Al and Brooke went up today. Mom also had a visit from an old cottage friend she hasn't seen in at least 5 years....a surprise!

Anyhow, I will keep things updated!

And for those keeping track....15.5 days to Christmas!!!
