Mom's in Kingston...

again. It was a rather quick decision and one made by her oncologist. He simply could not help her over the phone so he made rapid arrangements for a room for her in Kingston General Hospital. Al drove her up and was here just a bit ago to update me.

She is very dehydrated. As well, she is having trouble breathing. They were starting an IV line and going to do bloodwork and an x-ray on her as he was leaving. She wasn't happy to go...but Al is confident she is glad to be there, where they are doing something for her. Right now she is in a private room (541) but Al figures she will be moved to a ward as soon as a bed is available. He also mentioned the question of her having pneumonia. That is not something I had considered but, given all the time she has been in bed, it does make sense. She is prone to that. We should know more either later tonight or tomorrow.

I will keep everyone updated with the information I get. I am not sure if they will keep her there, to build her up, until her surgery (she was scheduled to be admitted on the 27th for her surgery on the 30th). In a way, I hope they do....she will be comfortable (physically, anyhow) and taken care of. But I will miss her and I know she will miss home.

I will pass on any wishes to her as soon as I can.
