Went out to Mom's around 2 this afternoon. She had quite a bit of company - Jeff and Karen, Penny and Lyndon - but seemed very content (if a little tired) and happy to be able to see everyone. My friend from Ottawa (Marie) came down with her two kids (my 'fairy god-children', Emily and Joshua)....loaded, as usual, with thoughtful gifts and her wonderful muffins. I called Mom - who's first question was not "How are you today?" but "Is Marie there yet?" LOL! So all of us loaded into three cars and headed out with Eric's birthday cake. We had a great visit and Marie and the kids headed home. Eric and the girls and I stayed a little longer then came home.
Really, Mom looked better than I have seen her look in literally weeks. Eric agreed. Her pain has definitely dimished and, while her tummy is still rolling a little, she simply seems happy to be home. Her nurse will start coming in again tomorrow....hopefully, just for a check-up.
Oh...and I cannot end without mentioning the AMAZING pot of soup Karen made. I did sneak a taste and want the recipe!! (hint, hint, Karen :-)!)
