It's been a week...

And Mom is still home. (YAY!)

She did make it to Kingston on Friday. It was a long trip - she ended up making an appointment with her surgeon as she was having some bowel issues and there was a little concern about another blockage. He fit her in before her already schedule appointment for her pulmonary tests. They did x-rays and he checked her out and assured her that the stint is still in place and there are no issues that they can see. Whew! She did make it to the other test on time and they were good enough to walk with her up and down the hallways a few times, rather than subjecting her to the treadmill usually used for this particular test.

She and Al did stop at their favourite charity place on the way home....I think Mom is paying for that 'fun' today. She was in quite a bit of pain when we saw her this afternoon and was on the search for more morphine when we left.

I will have to get a picture....my stepson got his head shaved "like Nana's" yesterday. Whatever reasoning may be floating around in his nearly-bald head, I owe him a hug - he made Mom smile :-).

And I have been printing out the comments being left here. Mom wanted me to say "Thank You!!" to those who have been posting. Definitely gives her a boost!

And I can't let this post by without wishing my cousin Sheena 'congrats!!' on her wedding day. It was a bit chilly - some unexpected rain - but I am sure where she was was beautiful. We weren't able to make it to the reception but I guarantee, she, Shawn, Riley and Zach have been on my mind all day.

Best wishes!

I am so glad to hear you are still home....saw all the cars on Thursday at your place and was a bit worried something had happened. It is with true strength and faith that you will get through this....which these attributes you are already proving you have....Tanya, you are a wonderful testimant to what a daughter should be and I am very proud to call you my friend..remember I am just down the road if you need anything and would love to see Morgan again...R
